You Can Stay The Night At A ‘Harry Potter’-Themed Apartment In Edinburgh

The only thing that’s missing is a cupboard under the stairs.

What’s someone who’s already booked a table at the Great Hall for Valentine’s Day dinner and simply can’t wait for the Cursed Child musical gotta do to get their Harry Potter fix? Well, they could start by sleeping as the wizards do.

Yep, it’s time to bust out your Gryffindor PJ’s, because a deluxe Harry Potter-themed apartment has popped up in Edinburgh, Scotland, at the historic Canongate Luxury Apartments.

The apartment’s master bedroom is where the magic happens. It’s been designed with the Gryffindor dormitories in mind, including a red-and-gold colour scheme, and boasts a luxurious four-poser bed with a top that gives off the illusion of magic floating candles.

If you consider yourself more of a Slytherin, don’t sweat it – each door in the apartment is painted with each house’s crest and colours.

The apartment’s owner and designer is fellow Harry Potter fan Yue Gao, who sourced all of the apartment’s furniture and trinkets himself – some of which actually belonged to author J.K. Rowling, including a desk.

“I didn’t want to turn it into a cheap copy of the film, so it’s more like an homage from a huge fan rather than the copy of the movie scene,” Yue Gao told The Metro. “I put my heart into it — it’s my dream realised.”

Despite looking incredibly awesome, comfort and style isn’t compromised. The apartment is kitted-out with a fully functioning kitchen (cockroach clusters, anyone?), flat screen TVs, gaming consoles and Wi-Fi.

The only thing that’s missing is a cupboard under the stairs.

Rates start at $480 (£278) per night with a minimum two-night stay. You can book here.
