See The Best Ever View Of New York At This Terrifying New Sky Deck

They do things big in New York, we all know that. And now the city has the newest, tallest observation deck in the Western Hemisphere. It offers an incredible view of the city that never sleeps – and you never will again, if you have a fear of heights. The Edge New York City opened to the public on 11 March 2020, offering spectacular views over an instantly recognisable skyline.

The observation deck grants views in every direction over Manhattan, Brooklyn, the Hudson River, neighbouring Jersey City and New York State. It’s second only the Dubai’s Burj Khalifa building in height.

The main event at Edge is the open-air platform which extends off the building, 335m above the New York City streets. Along the edge of the platform are glass panels which are tilted outward, allowing for unobstructed views. There’s also a glass portal in the platform, allowing you to look directly down to the city below.

Tickets start at US$36 (AU$56) if you book online in advance, or US$38 (AU$59) if you book at the door. You can book a certain time (we reckon sunrise and sunset would be best) or other tickets which allow you to drop by at any time of a specific day are also available.
