Get Ready To Feel Fabulous, Because Disneyland Will Host Its First Pride Parade In 2019

Friends, Pride Month is coming up. June, that glitter-filled time of year where we celebrate all things LGBTIQ, is almost upon us and promises to bring parties, parades and rainbows. For the first time ever, Disneyland will be getting in on the festivities with an official Disneyland Pride event.

For one night only on June 1, Disneyland Paris will be privatised for the Magical Pride party. From 8pm to 2am, ticket-holders can enjoy rare late-night access to attractions like the Twilight Zone of Terror, meet Disney characters roaming the park, take snaps at themed photo locations and get down at epic dance and karaoke parties.

We don’t know too much yet, but we do know that there’ll even be a special Magical March of Diversity Parade running through the park at Disneyland Pride.

The “Happiest Place On Earth” says on its website that it wants the event to be a safe place for its guests to “dress like a dream, feel fabulous and experience Walt Disney Studios Park like never before – loud, proud and alive with all the colours of the rainbow”.

It’s a great fit for the theme park that’s been consistently increasing its efforts to promote acceptance and inclusivity. Disney began hosting same-sex weddings in 2007 and introduced the Rainbow Mickey merchandise collection in 2018.

This isn’t the first time that a Magical Pride event has been held in a Disneyland. It is, however, the first time that a Disney pride event has been officially endorsed by the theme park.

Tickets for the Disney pride event start at €89.00 (AU$141) and can be booked online now.
