These Giant Rainbow Dumplings Are Coming For You At Vivid 2019

Hold the phone, people. Our fave dumplings are about to take centre stage on the Vivid 2019 food line-up. But wait, there’s a twist – we’re not talking about just any old dumpling. We’re talking about giant rainbow dumplings.

Much-adored dumpling chain, Din Tai Fung, has announced its special edition giant rainbow dumpling to help festival-goers celebrate all things light and colour. These bad boys are seven times larger than the chain’s regular dumplings so if you’re up for the challenge, expect to be buzzed before hitting the streets of Vivid 2019.

Want to get technical about it? The outer layer of the dumpling sports vibrant colours from yellow and pink through to purple and blue, and they’re still hand-made and steamed fresh to order too. The inside? Seafood and pork with a rich broth that’s served with a straw so you can slurp up all that glorious flavour. More please!

And never fear if dumplings aren’t on the top of your list. There’s a stellar line-up of other wild and wacky food to chow down on during Vivid 2019. Have a sweet tooth? Make sure you hunt down Gelato Messina’s glow-in-the-dark ice cream treats or head to Four Frogs Creperie to try one of their 50 custom Vivid-themed crepes. Challenge accepted.

Ding Tai Fung’s giant rainbow dumplings will be available in all Sydney and Melbourne stores for $9.80 from Friday 24 May through Thursday 6 June.
