Poland Has Glow-In-The-Dark Bike Lanes Now
Poland is quickly becoming a living dream for cyclists, and this latest announcement of eco-friendly, glow in the dark bike-lines is going to tempt all bike riders to go.
So how does it work? The material used to create the cycling lanes charges in the sunlight throughout the day so that when the sun sets, night-riders have a fluorescent, sparkly guide to their destination. Each charge lasts roughly ten hours, so there’s plenty of time to carve the glitter.
Alongside the increased safety factor, the lanes – which are found in a place called Mazury – are an aesthetic dream for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians alike.
The Netherlands also recently launched glow-in-the-dark bike lines, albeit for more artistic purposes as Dutch designer Daan Roosegaarde’s cycle path was illuminated with patterns based on Vincent van Gogh’s painting The Starry Night.

With views like this, cyclists will want to mount their bikes and head to Eastern Europe, because Poland is kicking some serious goals.
