‘Games Of Thrones’ Super-Fans Can Now Take A Suitably Epic Cruise Of Thrones

Experiencing Game Of Thrones withdrawals after the tying up of season eight? Want to soak up all those incredible vistas without fear of death by dragon fire? Well, now there’s a luxury cruise for that.

Setting sail in September 2021, the ambitious Cruise Of Thrones is taking fans (with money to burn) to Game Of Thrones filming locations throughout Europe. You can choose between two eight-day itineraries on the Celebrity Edge cruise ship, or really go for broke with the full 16-day experience.

The Northern Cruise visits Iceland, Northern Ireland and Ireland to soak up the atmosphere of the Wall and Winterfell, while the Southern Cruise visits Mediterranean ports in Spain, Malta and Croatia – otherwise known as Dorne, Essos and King’s Landing. The 16-day Known-World Cruise hits all the destinations, with a bonus side trip to the Steps of Dragonstone near Bilbao, Spain.

Naturally, there are a few things you should know before you pack your swimmers or Night’s Watch fur coat.

Cruise of Thrones is run by a US company called Dalmatian Travel, which is not endorsed by HBO, George R.R. Martin or any entities involved with Game Of Thrones itself. While the company is touting ‘featured guests’ aboard the cruise, presumably with ties to the show, no names have been announced.

Also, a journey this epic might require a loan from the Iron Bank. Packages for the cruise start at US$5,130 per person, and accelerate dramatically from there, right up to the eye-watering Celebrity Suite. You can suss it all out on the cruise website.
