Check Out This Underwater Nightclub In The Maldives
Rooftop bars are so last year. Just ask international hospitality company PER AQUUM–for the next hottest trend in nightlife , you’ll have to get deep. Following its sensational debut in 2012, Subsix, the world’s first underwater nightclub, has emerged from a redesign even bigger and better.
Six metres below the surface of the Indian ocean, off the coast of The Maldives, adventurous guests arrive at Subsix by speedboat, and descend a spiral staircase to the ocean floor. The interior is breathtaking: floor-to-ceiling glass walls that look out at the reef, teeming with marine life, a clam-inspired bar, chairs custom-designed to resemble anemones, imitation-coral chandeliers and a ceiling hung with strands of capiz shells. It’s seriously like something out of The Little Mermaid (extended club remix).
Subsix has made it’s name as a nightclub, but the venue is also open for subaquatic lunch and dinner bookings, weddings, private parties, wine tastings and DJ nights. Enjoy a gourmet meal while watching reef sharks hunt just inches from your table, or cut shapes on the d-floor surrounded by the clear blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Let’s get littoral.
