Polish Your Chaps, The ‘Magic Mike Live’ Show Is Coming Down Under

Strap on your chaps and work on your moves because Magic Mike Live is coming to Australia.

Based on the popular films Magic Mike and Magic Mike XXL and brought to Australia by Hollywood star Channing Tatum himself, Magic Mike Live takes the strip routines and dance of the movies and puts it on a stage for all to see in person.

The show has already had hit seasons in Las Vegas, London and Berlin, and was meant to be hitting Aussie shores earlier this year — which obviously didn’t happen. Until now.

Sydney will be the next city to welcome the big muscles of the Magic Mike Live dancers, opening at The Arcadia in the Entertainment Quarter this December, 2020. Melbourne will follow in June 2021.

The live iteration of Magic Mike has a 360-degree set up, meaning the 16 male dancers will “perform in front of, behind, above and all around the audience.” The performers will do their thing all around the venue, across both levels of seating, so everyone can get a close-up view. It’ll get your blood pumping, that’s for sure.

Will Tatum himself be grinding on the ground to Pony? Well, no. What you can expect though, are 16 very hot protégés in what the website describes as an “immersive, thrilling, live dance and acrobatic spectacular based on the hit movies”.

“We’ve created a whole different genre,” said Channing Tatum, who starred in the films and is director of Magic Mike Live. “We joke in the second movie like we’re going to take it global and now it’s actually happening.”

You can book tickets to Magic Mike Live now from their website. And remember, touching is against the law.
