Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego? Google Earth, Apparently
The world’s favourite globetrotting super thief is back, and it’s up to you to track her down to the ends of the earth. “Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego” has taken to Google Earth for a new geography video game experience.
If you’re like us, you grew up loving two things: video games, and travel (also dogs and chocolate milk but they’re not relevant to this very important news article). And ’90s game Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? was the perfect blend of those two things.
And now, we’re back on the hunt for Sandiego to celebrate the recently released Carmen Sandiego Netflix series, and thanks to Google Earth. “The Crown Jewels Caper” is the first episode in a brand new series of Carmen Sandiego games that are played in Google Earth.
It plays just like the original games – you’ll visit landmarks, interview witnesses and decipher clues that lead you all around the world on the hunt for Carmen Sandiego, criminal mastermind and HBIC who absolutely rocks a red suit. Along the way, you’ll learn all about the geography and history of the places you visit – learning has never been so fun as when your teacher is a supervillain!
This time around, you’re on a very important mission to find Sandiego and recover the Crown Jewels of England. The game whisks you away to London to start searching for clues but by the end you’ll have visited a handful of countries and seen some pretty incredible 3D renderings of places like the Tower of London, Mount Fuji and Christ the Redeemer statue.
You can play Where on Google Earth is Carmen Sandiego: The Crown Jewels for yourself and finish in around five minutes, but the lessons you learn along the way will last a lifetime.
