Traditional hotel accommodation is so two-thousand-and-late. Now, it’s all about totally unique stays that have been customised to allow guests to fully immerse themselves in whichever country they’re visiting.

So, if you’re planning your next trip to India, consider booking in to Niraamaya Retreats’ Cardamom Club in Thekkady, Kerala.

Cardamom Club is the epitome of a nature getaway – tucked away high in the misty Indian mountains. It sits amidst a sea of green cardamom plants in Kerala’s tropical rainforest.

“The setting is discrete and features spectacular views of the hilly landscape around,” Bhavana Kumar, Principal Architect at Kumar La Noce told Lonely Planet News. “The property is close to the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, and it is not uncommon to spot a herd of Asian elephants or bison and various other exotic flora and fauna.”

Soak up the incredible natural surrounds in the Cardamom Club’s infinity pool, but be sure to venture outside of your cabin – there’s loads to see and do. You can try your hand at bamboo rafting, go on nature treks or spend the day exploring local elephant reserves.
