Next Wednesday You Can Eat Pink, Thanks To This Adorable New Sydney Cafe

Look I’ll fully admit that, despite a brief teenage stage of rejecting the colour for ridiculous reasons, I’m a huge fan of pink. It features heavily in my clothing and home decorating and I’m not sorry about it. So when I’m told it can also feature heavily in my food choices, I am in.

Doux Amour is one of Sydney‘s newest cafes (and patisseries), that calls Broadway/ Ultimo home. It. Is. Adorable. This pastel-hued shopfront is filled with adorable choux pastry desserts (which are basically soft little pastry cakes) in the image of just about every animal you can imagine — whales, tigers, puppies, pandas, frogs and more.

If you’re in doubt of how much effort goes into making each and every one of them a perfect delight, you can stand and watch the pastry chef at work, thanks to a giant window looking into the kitchen.

Besides the colourful desserts on rotation, they also do coffees, a range of rainbow hot taro drinks, and more (to wash down the sweet treats, obviously.

So where does the pink come in?

Well, next Wednesday (June 23), happens to be National Pink Day (not to be confused with the International Day Of Pink which raises awareness for bullying) — is a useless but sweet day which is dedicated to celebrating the colour. Look, again, pointless, but if it gets me fun pink things that look cute on the ‘Gram then I’m in.

And fun pink things is exactly what Doux Amour wants to give you. If you head in on June 23, they’ll be serving up pink lattes (yes, like the coffee, except with some floral notes and a hint of cherry), little pink piggy desserts and raspberry delight tarts from their dedicated ‘Pink Menu’.

For $10 you can nab one of those lattes and pigs in a sweet combo. The Rosie Pink Pig Choux is flavoured with fragrant rosewater, laced with juicy lychee pieces.

If you’re into something a little more savoury, it’s also truffle season and we’ve rounded up the best truffle dishes you can get your hands on around Sydney.
