Barack Obama Has Revealed His Summer Travel Plans And Must-Reads

Barack Obama

In case you missed it, Barack Obama has truly been living his best life since leaving his White House life behind. Never forget when last year the former POTUS was papped flexing his kite-surfing skills and sporting an effortlessly cool backwards hat in the Caribbean with billionaire bestie Richard Branson.

On Friday, the former President took to Facebook to share his upcoming summer travel plans, and a list of books he recommends.

Yep, Barack Obama is gearing up to travel to Africa for the first time since he left office in 2017. And with his upcoming trip, Barack is getting as much reading done as possible to make his journey a little more meaningful and boost his knowledge about the culture-rich continent.

His recommendations include: Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, Americanah by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Long Walk to Freedom by Nelson Mandela and many more, all of which can be seen in the Facebook post.

“I’ve often drawn inspiration from Africa’s extraordinary literary tradition. As I prepare for this trip, I wanted to share a list of books that I’d recommend for summer reading, including some from a number of Africa’s best writers and thinkers – each of whom illuminate our world in powerful and unique ways,” the former president wrote on Facebook.
