Normally we’re all about bringing you wholesome news about very good doggos, but we had a thought — dogs aren’t the only cute animals. Let us introduce you to this adorable baby rhino who was just born in Blank Park Zoo in the United States.

Her name is Kamara and she’s a very good girl. You can watch her being a very good girl here. Go on, we’ll wait.

She’s an eastern black rhino, one of less than 1000 left in the world, so she’s a pretty big deal. “This is a significant event – not only for Blank Park Zoo, but also for this critically endangered animal species,” said Mark Vukovich, Blank Park Zoo CEO. The zoo participates in a species survival plan to protect the black rhino, and Kamara will play a very important role in preserving the species.

This superstar is just over one month old now and she and her mother are on display to the public every day, so you can meet two big cuties if you’re travelling through Des Moines in Iowa. When she gets a bit bigger, Kamara will have two horns and could weigh up to 3000 pounds.

The name Kamara was decided in a public competition and means “moonlight” in Swahili. Look at this little ray of moonlight!

Blank Park Zoo does a lot of research, education and conservation work to inspire an appreciation for nature. Kamara joins the other animals living the good life here, like lions, tigers, and penguins.
