Game On: Wollongong Is Getting A Retro Arcade Bar
The legends behind Archie Brothers Electric Circus and Holey Moley miniature golf are bringing their special blend of fun-loving nostalgia to Wollongong, just outside Sydney. B. Lucky & Sons is a retro arcade bar filled with old-school games and prohibition-themed cocktails.
If you’ve been fortunate enough to find yourself in B. Lucky & Sons in Melbourne or Queensland, you’ll know that the arcade bar offers up some of the best fun you can have on a night out. And now, the adult playground is coming to Wollongong on April 12.
When it opens, look for an old-style pawn shop in the Crown Street mall, tucked away in between Holey Moley and David Jones. It’ll be hiding a secret entrance to the arcade bar that’s fitted out with neon-tinged retro chic.

Inside, you’ll find video games like Mario Kart and Space Invaders as well as classic arcade games like Whack ‘N’ Win, NBA Hoops and an impressive lineup of pinball games. If you’re a pro at any of them, you can win yourself (or your date) some sweet prizes from the pawn shop, including swag such as vintage Chanel bags or a PlayStation 4.
It’ll be easy to work up an appetite playing all of these, so the bar’s got you covered with tasty snacks, pizzas and indulgent cocktails. If you’re not one of those people who get better at games after a few drinks, they’ve also got non-alcoholic bubble cups to keep you going.
B. Lucky & Sons opens in Wollongong on April 12. If you’re feeling as lucky as the bar’s namesake, you can enter the competition to win one of ten double passes to the launch party.
