An Avocado Festival Is Happening At This Mexican Resort

avocado, avocado festival

It’s no secret that everyone’s obsessed with avocados. They can transform an ordinary burger into something incredible and turn any hot breakfast up to 11. And don’t even get us started on guacamole.

As it turns out, we’re not alone. Casa Velas, a resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, shares our affinity for the fruit, announcing it will be celebrating all things avo until the end of March with a avocado festival of sorts.

The hotel’s gourmet Mexican restaurant, Emiliano, will dish up a special menu designed to highlight the humble avo, including avocado burritos, chocolate mousse made with avocado, waffles with avocado and walnut jam, avocado ceviche with mushrooms and jucama, avo tiramisu, and heaps more.

If you weren’t already sold, there will be a guacamologist (dream job alert) on site in the pool area to prepare all the fresh guac your heart desires.

“Guests can also participate in a cooking class to learn how to prepare different types of guacamole,” the hotel said in a statement.

They’ve also got some cool plans to combat the heat. “To keep guests cool in Puerto Vallarta’s temperate 30-degree weather, avocado shaved ice will be offered in the pool area.”

If you thought the avocado-fuelled activities stop there, think again. At the hotel’s spa, you can try out some of their avocado treatments, including the avo exfoliation, avo body wrap and avocado moisturising hair treatment.

And, if you miss this month’s avocado festival, the hotel will also be offering the “Guacamania experience” in September in honour of Mexico’s Independence Day.
