A New Range Of Choccies Re-Imagines Some Aussie Faves, So Excuse Me While I Eat Them All

The only thing I like better than dessert, is when dessert is re-created by another dessert. Stay with me now, while I explain.

Australian fancy-pants chocolatier, Koko Black, has just released their new Australian Classics Collection featuring a fresh take on all your Aussie faves. Having tried it myself, it’s a doozie.

My absolute number one pick from the range are the Gaytime Goldies, which come by themselves for $6, or in a three pack for $17.90. They’re small bars of vanilla and malted caramel ganache, dipped in dark chocolate and sprinkled with hazelnuts with a slightly salty taste to balance the sweetness. Honestly, just divine.

Second choice for me are the Honey Joys, which come in a packet for $15.90. Crunchy cornflakes and sticky honey are mixed in either milk chocolate or dark chocolate and it’s a sweet and crunchy delight.

The collection also features the likes of Koko Vovo (a spin on the classic Iced Vovo), Jam Wagons (with marshmallow and jelly), Koko Crackles (yes, just like a fancy chocolate crackle), and a Lamington Slice.

If you’re having trouble deciding (who could blame you) and you deserve a treat (of course you do), you can get a bit of everything in the ‘Ultimate Classic Collection Hamper’. It’ll set you back $169 and will be available online as well.

“Every single person has memories they can look back to as the ‘good old days’ — where milk bars were on every corner, and where summers were filled with memories of birthday parties, fetes and trips to the tuckshop,” says Remco Brigou, Head Chocolatier and Product Innovation Manager at Koko Black.

“We want our Australian Classics Collection to reinvent these moments in a contemporary way, making people feel those fond Australian memories are here. That the golden days are now, and that you’re never too old to feel young again”.
