Asia’s Best Bars Have Been Named For 2021, So Now We Know Where To Drink When More Bubbles Open
One of the best parts of travel is seeking out funky little bars and feeling like a trendy local. That combined with my endless daydreaming since the New Zealand travel bubble opened up and somewhere in Asia is likely to be next, mean that I am taking very close note of the winners in 2021’s list of Asia’s 50 Best Bars.
“We hope that the announcement of the 2021 ranking – as well as the publication, for the first time, of those ranked from 51 to 100 – will provide optimism and encouragement to all bars as travel routes gradually open up and guests begin to plan their next fine-drinking experiences,” said Mark Sansom, Content Editor for Asia’s 50 Best Bars, in a statement.

First place was nabbed by Hong Kong bar, Coa (which also won the Best Bar In China award). Launched in 2017, this bar is the expert on all things agave. It houses 200 handcrafted Latin American liquors and they love to sit and chat with guests about their drinks.
“We want to extend our heartiest congratulations to all the bars named in the list,” continued Sansom.”It is a well-deserved debut win for Coa and credit goes to Jay Khan and his team who have proven themselves to be at the heart of the continent’s cocktail culture. The bar serves a perfect blend of subtle agave education, relaxed vibes and a simply fantastic drinks list. This, combined with the great work they have been doing to support their community throughout the pandemic, makes Coa a bona fide No.1 this year”.

Singapore’s Jigger & Pony came in second, also winning Best Bar in Singapore for the second time in a row. They’re all about perfecting the classic cocktails, in a cosy small bar setting.
Coming in third was The SG Club in Japan, Taiwan’s Indulge Experimental Bistro kept its fourth spot on the list from 2020 and Sober Company in Shanghaitook out fifth.
