Are You Brave Enough To Try This Glass Bottomed Slide Hanging Over LA?

Nope, nope, nopety nope.

You’re just not cool unless you’ve got a glass bottom these days. Everything from pools in the sky to hotel rooms – even canoes can’t escape. The newest attraction? A brand new glass-bottomed slide that overhangs over Downtown LA. Lol, no thanks.

A new addition to the US Bank Tower in Los Angeles, Skyspace LA is a rooftop complex that’ll certainly delight any thrill seeker. After a $50 million upgrade, the 72-storey building, which just so happens to be LA’s tallest skyscraper, will soon be home to an observation deck, bar and 100 percent insane glass slide.

The slide, which will chute down two floors of the tower, will jut out about 300 metres above the ground. No big deal.

This overhang lets guests experience a delirious ride over LA’s iconic downtown area. But don’t worry, it’s pretty damn safe. The Skyslide is built from glass that’s about 3.2 centimetres thick, and the entire slide is only 14 metres long, so you’ve gotta be quick if you want to take a death-defying glance at the view below. The chute will slide you from the 70th floor down to the 69th floor for $8USD ($11AUD) a pop.

And if you get up there and decide that nah, this won’t be happening, don’t stress. We’ve got a whole bunch of other excellent Downtown LA activities for you to check out while you’re there.

Skyspace LA is expected to open June 25, with admission costing $25USD ($34AUD).
