Hang Out With Cute Koalas And Fill Up On Dumplings This Lunar New Year

All-You-Can-Eat Dumplings

Some things are just meant to go together, like pickles with a burger or prosecco with a fountain. Then there are other combos you never knew you needed. Like, say, all-you-can-eat dumplings with a view of adorable koalas.

Enter Wild Life Sydney Zoo’s latest attraction. The Darling Harbour zoo is celebrating the start of the Lunar New Year with a Shanghai-inspired twilight feast on its Koala Rooftop.

Available from Wednesday 22 to Thursday 30 January, the all-you-can dumpling sessions are booking up fast. Three slots are scheduled each night: 6pm, 7pm and 8pm. You’ll have a whirlwind 30-minute session to get your fill of dumplings. All guests can then stroll the zoo until its 9pm closing time.

New Shanghai, the dumpling experts with locations around Sydney (plus Shanghai and Dubai), are in charge of the menu.

That means all-you-can eat favourites like Xiao Long Bao, chicken and celery dumplings and prawn and park wonton. Guests are advised to arrive up to 60 minutes before your session, so you can prepare your stomach en route through the zoo.

In addition to a kingly dinner, you’ll be surrounded by some very cute koalas. The zoo also boasts attractions like Tasmanian devils, freshwater crocodiles, yellow-footed rock wallabies and green tree pythons.

Dumpling session tickets are $50. At only $15 more than the regular entry price, that’s a good deal. $5 from each ticket will go to wildlife charities helping injured animals in bushfire-affected areas.
