Aldi Is Taking Their ‘Special Buys’ Sales Online And Honestly It’s A Game-Changer

I’m a huge fan of the Aldi Special Buys. More than once I’ve lined up in the early hours of a Saturday morning to get dibs on an especially good deal. But all that changes now.

The discount supermarket has announced that they’ll FINALLY be getting online, two decades after they first opened in Australia (the first two stores being in Marrickville and Bankstown in 2001, in case you’re after some fun trivia).

Set to launch this week, the online store will give shoppers in Greater Metro Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria access to purchase an exclusive range of Special Buys products.

“We are constantly looking for ways to improve the experience of our customers and are very excited to be taking our first steps into eCommerce,” says Simon Padovani, Group Director Customer Interactions at ALDI Australia.

This doesn’t mean the whole store is going digital, you’ll still have to do your regular shopping in-store. but frankly, Special Buys is all we need online.

Every Wednesday and Saturday at 8.30am, select items from the Special Buys range and new products will be added to the online store. You may not have to physically be at the store to claim your prize, but it’s still a first-in-best-dressed situation, so your clicking fingers better be fast.

“We encourage customers to check our catalogue and website for exciting new online offers every week,” says Simon.

As part of a limited trial of the new function, you can currently shop online for a queen-sized latex mattress in a box for $499 (available on Wednesday 26 May 2021) and a French Door Fridge for $879 (available from Saturday 29 May 2021).

What can I say mates, this is an absolute game-changer. If only it was on time for their Ski Sale this weekend.
