A Letter With A Hand-Drawn Map Instead Of An Address Was Still Somehow Delivered In Iceland

Iceland is increasingly becoming one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations on account of its incredible scenery, affable citizens, and twee way of doing almost everything.

These adorable oddities find their way into Icelandic food, music, customs, and now its postal service, too. A tourist who had previously visited the small county attempted to mail a letter to a family they had met in the area. As the visitors weren’t in possession of  the family’s address, they tried their hand at drawing a map of the residence they had visited on the envelope.

The photo was posted in this Reddit thread, where the caption read “In lieu of an address, a tourist in Iceland drew this map of Búðardalur and surroundings on the envelope. The postal service was successful in delivering it!” The envelope included the country, village name, and the line “A horse farm with an Icelandic/Danish couple and three kids and a lot of sheep.”

Only in Iceland.
