A Chinese Attraction Has Installed Speed Bumps To Ensure You’re Taking In The View

Our everyday lives can be so busy and stressful. That’s why travelling is so great. You get the chance to slow down and take as much time as you want. Speed bumps have been installed on a pedestrian sidewalk in the district of Taierzhuang in China just to make certain you really are taking in your surroundings.

Installed by local officials, the pedestrian speed bumps are called ‘calming devices’. They were put in place to ensure that there wouldn’t be a build up of people traffic heading down to the temples, historic buildings and Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal to be found at the bottom of the road.

There had been previous concerns about the high volume of people rushing down the particular stretch of road too quickly. The installation has been effective in eradicating this problem.

Look, any sort of initiative that helps people to take their time and appreciate their surroundings is a pretty good thing in our books. Especially if you’re somewhere as beautiful and iconically historic as the Taierzhuang district.
