A Brazilian And Portuguese Festival Is Happening In Sydney

Mark it in your calendars and double underline it – Sydney’s getting a Portuguese-Brazilian festival next month.

The Brazilian Community Council of Australia and the Sydney Portugal Community Club have joined forces for the first ever Lusophone Carnival in Sydney’s inner west.

It’s called Canguru na Folia which, roughly translated, means Kangaroo Whoopee. Canguru na Folia will take place on February 25 and 26, and feature live music and DJs, a costume competition, jumping castle and plenty of delicious food stalls featuring some decadent Portuguese treats.

Fingers crossed that means Portuguese tarts!

Yum.

The two-day event will take place at the Sydney Portuguese Community Club in Marrickville. Tickets are crazy cheap (we’re talking under $7) – get them here.

If you can’t make it to Rio’s Carnival this year, this might be the next best thing.
