October 1 is World Coffee Day, and you don’t need to tell us Aussies twice. Here are seven fun ways to get involved and even score yourself a free cup of bean juice in the process.

#1 St Remio will donate to support a female farming co-operative for every purchase

Each year, Australian coffee brand St Remio funds a project at the coffee origin to support and empower coffee growing communities and in 2020 they are continuing their support for the female farming co-operative of Cocagi in West Rwanda.

They will donate 50 cents from the sale of each box of its Nespresso compatible compostable capsules and $1 from the sale of each bag sold in all Coles supermarkets nationally and via the St Remio online store

#2 The Coffee Club are doing free small coffees

Australia’s largest home-grown café group, The Coffee Club, are giving customers a free small coffee when you say “Happy World Coffee Day” on October 1. The offer is valid for a small hot coffee of your choice, including plant milks.

#3 Merivale are cranking out $10 espresso martinis the whole long weekend

Merivale and Kahlua have come through this International Coffee Day by stretching the celebrations until the end of the long weekend with Espresso Martini Week. You can nab $10 Espresso Martinis at bars, pubs and select restaurants across the group until Monday 5 October (think: Bar Totti’s, Charlie Parkers. Coogee Pavilion Rooftop, Hemmesphere, The Newport, The Royal and more).

If you’re staying in (at home or a swish Airbnb with mates), there is also the $65 Merivale at Home Espresso Martini Kits. Orders will be packed and delivered to Sydney metro suburbs within 24 hours, with deliveries made between 9am-7pm Friday and Saturday.
