There’s literally never been a better time to explore our own country — what with it being our only option for a while –and there’s a million reasons to hit up the NT in particular, but you may as well time it with one of these rad sporting or cultural goings-on, in my opinion as a professional traveller.

From foodie delights to visual feasts, here are six Northern Territory events worth planning a trip for.

Car racing is a world entirely of its own, so if it revs your engine you’re going to want to check out the return of the BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown when it comes back to Hidden Valley Raceway in August. You can either grab a day pass or go the whole hog with a multi-pass. More details here.

#3 Darwin Festival, Darwin

The Darwin Festival has obviously been re-imagined somewhat for 2020, but you can still expect a series of live and online events from music and theatre performances, to exhibitions. As always, they’ll be celebrating NT life, arts and culture, with a focus on local talent. More details here.

#4 Red Centre NATS, Alice Springs
