400-Metre Long Slip’N’Slide Is Returning To Melbourne

Keen to hurl your body almost half a kilometre down a supersized slip’n’slide this summer? Then set your compass, your GPS or your Google Maps app for Melbourne. After a wildly successful inaugural event in 2014, Slide Melbourne returns this summer locking in not one but two days of complete water slide madness this December and February.

Armed with little more than tarps, inflatable tubes and a whole host of hoses, the Slide Melbourne team will be taking over Lansdowne Street on the edge of Melbourne’s CBD with its 400 metre long slip’n’slide – the longest of its kind in the world. The three lane slide will make use of the natural slope of the street which sits alongside Fitzroy Gardens.

Slide Melbourne takes over Lansdowne Street on Sunday December 6 2015 and again on Sunday February 7 2016. There will be five sessions on each day – 10am, 12pm, 2:15pm, 4:15pm and 16:15pm – with each session running for two hours. Tickets are $41 plus booking fee (which lets you slide as often as you can in your allocated time) and are available from the event’s website.
