You Should Absolutely Stay At This Pop-Up Glamping Hotel In Byron Bay This Summer

If you’re a young person living in Australia in 2016, it’s unlikely that you’ve managed to escape the concept of ‘glamping’, so we’re going to go out on a limb here and say that we don’t need to do an explainer. If you need a little refresher, head here, here and here. Now that’s out of the way, it’s time for the good news: the glamping pros are back to help you out this holiday season.

Flash Camp sets up luxurious bell tents at Kakadu National Park, weddings and music festivals, and this time they’re taking on Byron Bay with a pop-up glamping hotel for a few weeks over the summer holiday season.

Sixty fully furnished Flash Tents will be setup from December 18 to January 8 on an exclusive site at the northern end of Byron Holiday Park just five minutes from the heart of town, with direct access to Tallow Beach. To top it all off, the site will also feature a special pop-up restaurant and bar by Harvest.

The Harvest team is planning a series of share table dinners and events at Flash Camp, with gourmet BBQ meat, freshly-shucked oysters, paella and margaritas all set to make an appearance on the menu. Yum!

Flash Camp recently wowed glampers with the announcement that they were turning Sydney Harbour’s Clark Island into a temporary hotel by erecting 22 specially designed canvas tents, plus a pop-up restaurant by Three Blue Ducks.

At the Byron Bay incarnation, you’ll be just a few minutes from the beach, and when you’re not there, you could be enjoying a Harvest cocktail in between afternoon naps in the comfort of your tent. It is, indeed, the life.

Each Flash Tent comes fully furnished with comfy king or single beds, quality bed linen, fresh towels, Armadillo & Co rugs, bamboo furniture, Biology Skin toiletries and a host of other creature comforts.

Rates start at $230 per night, including breakfast and dinner for two, and you can book here. There’s a minimum three night stay, though, so keep that in mind when you clear the calendar.
