This Year’s Whole Vivid Sydney Program Has Just Dropped

The Vivid Sydney 2017 program has just launched, and boy is it a good one.

The world’s largest festival of lights, music and ideas already announced Fleet Foxes as its first act two weeks ago. Joining the reunited band in the music category are Goldfrapp, Laura Marling, Dappled Cities Present |||||, Camp Cope, an Avalanches block party (featuring Briggs, DJ Shadow and Sampa The Great), Nick Murphy (FKA Chet Faker) Presents Missing Link, Sampha, Bill Callahan, Air, The Necks, and heaps more. Ash Bolland will bring his array of creative talents to light up the Opera House sails with Audio CreaturesVivid Sydney Lightwalk will return to the Botanical Gardens, and Vivid will also extend to the new Barangaroo precinct including Trapdoor, a series of spectacular illusions that make the ground appear to open up beneath you, revealing a subterranean underworld. Check out the full light lineup here, which is all free and open for everyone to enjoy.

And in the Ideas category, Vivid will host a Masterclass in jewellery making, a human robot friendship ball, a Good Design festival and a talk from AWOL‘s parent company Junkee Media on Gen Z. Check out the full ideas lineup here.

The celebration goes for 23 days from May 26 to June 17.
