It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s a flying car!

No, this is not fake news. No, you haven’t fallen into a time machine and arrived in the future. The world’s first flying car really is here. And you can order one right now.

Slovakian company AeroMobil has announced it’s now accepting pre-orders for its incredibly sci-fi looking flying car, which is expected to be ready for market in as little as three years. AeroMobil co-founder and CEO Juraj Vaculik announced: “Today is a transformative day for the future of travel”, and that “everyday flying transportation will soon be a reality”.

Titled the AeroMobil Flying Car, it’s been built “to give customers true freedom of movement in a vehicle that is both extraordinary and exciting, while also being efficient”. The Flying Car is designed to offer the functions of both a car and an aeroplane, with the flexibility to switch between both.

According to the official website: “Its dual mode means it can cut travel times compared to traditional short haul airline flights ranging up to 1,000km as its powerful engine enables greater range and offers more efficient use of energy.”
