The Will Ferrell Themed Bar You Never Knew You Needed Is Here
If you’ve got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell Will Ferrell, then we may have found the best remedy – there’s now an entire bar devoted to the beloved actor.
You may know Ferrell as iconic newscaster Ron Burgandy from Anchorman, or as perpetual man-child Brennan in Step Brothers, or even as Mugatu from Zoolander – basically, you know Will Ferrell, he’s involved in practically every good comedy of the last ten years.
So it makes sense that two superfans have decided to honour the actor and his collection of excellent films with a bar based around his iconic characters. The bar is Stay Classy New York and it’s located in the Lower East Side of Manhattan – it’s only been open a few days but it’s already a big deal.
The drinks menu features some of Ferrell’s famous phrases turned into tasty cocktails – from Anchorman there’s the Glass Case Of Emotion (Muddled rosemary and peach, whiskey, lemon juice and simple syrup) and the Milk Was A Bad Choice (Vanilla Stoli, vanilla schnapps, milk and ice). The film Stepbrothers inspires two drinks, the F*cking Catalina Wine Mixer, which is house made sangria, and the Did We Just Become Best Friends? which is basically two shots for you and your friend.
Old School fans will even delight in the We’re Going Streaking! cocktail which they label ‘adult kool aid’ – mandarin vodka, peach schnapps, triple sec, cranberry juice, grenadine and pineapple.
Though the bar wasn’t slated for opening until later in the month, the owners decided to launch a little earlier thanks to the hype surrounding the character-themed bar. There’s Will Ferrell trivia, an art gallery of his characters, heaps of food and – of course – Will Ferrell movies playing around the clock.
They’re even thinking a little ahead with parties slated for the rest of the year – an Anchorman-themed Halloween party is already on the cards, as well as an Elf-themed Christmas party. It’s all you never knew you wanted.
