Returning this November is the free live music series Courtyard Club held by Perth Theatre Trust and RTRFM. The Courtyard Club features eclectic sets from diverse local musical talent – you’ll hear everything from indie rock to soul funk, electronica to rockabilly tunes. This is an event that refuses to fit itself inside a neat genre box. The music series kicks off in a spectacular fashion on November 4 in conjunction with the WAMFest 2016 Friday Showcase, and it continues every Friday evening until December 23 at Perth’s State Theatre Centre courtyard. All sets will be broadcast live to air on RTRFM’s Drivetime.

Urban Wine Walk
Vino lovers, wine connoisseurs and those partial to a glass of plonk are cordially invited to take part in the city cellar experience in Northbridge and Perth City as part of the Urban Wine Walk on 26 November from 1-6 pm. The wine walk is a self-guided exploration of some of the best small bars and restaurants in the inner city. Tickets will admit you into over 15 participating venues – including the likes of stalwarts Bivouac and Pleased to Meet You, and new(er) kids on the block Young Love Mess Hall and Arthouse Dine – where your wine glasses will be continually topped up with complimentary tastings from some of Australia’s best wine producers. You’ll be swirling your vino glass and discussing body, balance and nose before you know it.
Open House Perth
Whether you’re an architecture aficionado or just a curious being in general, Open House Perth offers you the opportunity to snoop around inside some of Perth’s most interesting and iconic buildings and spaces. Open House Perth celebrates striking and innovative local design and there will be over 90 locations across Perth and its surrounds opening its doors to the general public. Put your tourist cap on (bumbag optional) and take in Perth with a fresh set of eyes – you’ll never know what hidden gems you may uncover in your hometown. Open House is happening over the weekend of November 12-13 .
Perth Craft Beer Festival
The always boisterous WA Beer Week (November 11–20 ) is kicking off its foaming festivities with the Perth Craft Beer Festival, now in its second year. Not only will the festival be showcasing pints of frothy Australian and international beers, pop-up stalls will also be serving up fruity ciders and delectable bites from some of Perth’s favourite eateries. What’s even better, you even get to walk away with your very own beer glass topped up with memories and good times. Held across three days from November 4-6 at the Urban Orchard in Perth’s Cultural Centre, the festival will be running in separate sessions: Friday Frothies, Family Funday, Super Saturday or the Sunday Session.
Rooftop Movies
Yeah baby – it’s baaack! Rooftop Movies has finally rolled back into P-Town and we’re more than a little excited, not only because we now have our summer film schedule sorted. Program 1 has just dropped and includes well-loved classics such as The Big Lebowski and Blazing Saddles, and newer releases Snowden and that Louis Theroux Scientology documentary we’ve been all waiting for. Leave your worries on the ground floor of the parking lot (literally) and take the elevator up to the rooftop where your secret Coachella-esque (sans Ferris wheel and A-list celebs – sorry peeps) urban oasis awaits. Good times are non-negotiable.
Etsy Made Local
If you want to avoid listening to Christmas carols on repeat while scrambling around like a headless chicken on Christmas Eve, cursing yourself for not having been more organised, then we suggest you circle this event in your diary with a big fat red pen. The Etsy Made Local market is happening nationwide on November 19 and will be held in Perth at the State Theatre Centre courtyard from 10 am to 4 pm. There will be over 60 local Etsy sellers out selling their crafty and artisan wares – the perfect opportunity for you to cross off all the names on your to-buy-for list and to pick up some Kris Kringle gifts with some serious cred.
Artdine At Art Gallery WA
There’s something about being in an art gallery after hours, wandering around and taking in the thought-provoking exhibitions without the distraction of other gallery-goers. It seems like the Art Gallery WA and Arthouse Dine agree. In Artdine, an intimate group of 30 people are invited to view the AGWA’s latest exhibitions after the last of the day’s visitors have gone home – a private viewing, if you will. Not only that, you’ll also be treated to a three-course meal and a complimentary drink at Arthouse Dine once you’ve finished admiring the artwork. Sounds like the perfect date night to us. Artdine runs on Saturdays throughout October and November.
