Sydney’s Game Of Thrones-Themed Wine Festival Is Returning To Carriageworks

Winter is coming – and no, we’re not just talking about the rapidly cooling weather.

With the new season of Game Of Thrones set to premiere in the middle of winter (July 16), it’s time to start thinking about how we’re going to celebrate the long-awaited new season. And what better way to do it than lots of wine?

If you love Game Of Thrones, and you also love wine (we imagine there’s a fair few of you who love both), you’re in luck: a themed wine festival is coming to Sydney this July!

Affectionately titled ‘Game of Rhones’, the wine tasting festival will be returning to Carriageworks for the third successful year running. The festival offers more than 100 wines from Australia and around the world (mostly red varieties, with some whites in for good measure), as well as beers and ciders, with food to match it all – think cheese, charred meats, and more cheese. And more meats. And more cheese.

It all kicks off on Sunday June 18, and runs from 1-6pm. Tickets start from $60, and all include a wine glass (valued at $35) for your tastings, and to keep afterwards. If you feel like splurging, go for the Royal Pass, which not only gives you pre-event access from midday, but comes with a food voucher, and personal advice from a sommelier to help find the perfect wines for your tastes.

Oh – and don’t forget to dress up in your favourite Game Of Thrones-themed costume!
