Qantas Is Offering Extra Flights To Triple J’s One Night Stand

QantasLink has announced a string of extra return flights to Mount Isa for all festivalgoers looking to attend triple j’s One Night Stand.

The brilliant thing about triple j’s annual surprise festival, One Night Stand, is how much it services the rural communities it’s hosted in. This does mean that city-goers need to sort out flights, right? Right!

This year’s One Night Stand is hosted in the small central Queensland town of Mount Isa. A lovely place, and the picture of Australian rural life, but not so easy to reach. This year’s lineup features San Cisco, The Smith Street Band, Tash Sultana, Thundamentals and triple j’s Unearthed winner Lucky Luke.

Thankfully, QantasLink has just announced extra services to the town from Brisbane, so you and your mates won’t have any trouble going along. Getting to enjoy some seriously good Australian music and support a regional gem of a town? That’s a fair dinkum time.

On Saturday 22 April and Sunday 23 April, QantasLink will be running one special return service each day from Brisbane to Mount Isa for 174 bums on seats, in addition to its current schedule.

Known as ‘The Isa’ by locals, there’s a whole lot of natural wonder and Australian history to behold in the town once you’re there. In fact, it holds the spot of ‘World’s Biggest City’ in the Guinness Book of Records for a city limit larger than Switzerland. Manmade Lake Moondarra is a big attraction for tourists and locals, as well as the four wheel drive tracks and world class fishing. Another fun fact about the town, is that it breeds a lot of celebrities.
