Nintendo Theme Parks Are Coming To The US & Japan

Soon, you’ll be able to dodge giant Piranha Plants as they spring to life, jump on Question blocks and collect power-ups, but in real life instead of on a screen. Immersive Nintendo-themed parks are in the works for Osaka in Japan and Hollywood and Orlando in the US.

Universal Parks & Resorts have partnered with Nintendo to bring the magic of their beloved video games to life at Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.

The immersive, interactive parks will be filled with attractions, shops, and restaurants, from the worlds of games like Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda and Pokémon. Expect to meet your favourite heroes (and villains), and feel like you’ve been literally dropped inside of your favourite Nintendo game.

While exact details are firmly under wraps, creative work on the new parks is well and truly underway, and they are expected to open separately over the next several years. No shames in amping up the excitement levels now though. Just be sure to look out for Koopa Troopas.
