Japan’s Cherry Blossom Season Has Arrived Three Months Early

Japan is erupting with colour right now as tons of exquisite cherry blossom tress are blooming three months earlier than expected.

Those living in Kawazu in the Shizuoka Prefecture, an area located three hours south of Tokyo, are the lucky ones that have been blessed with the early eruptions of the beautiful cherry blossoms. The trees weren’t expected to blossom until at least next month at the earliest, so locals and tourists alike have been joyfully using the opportunity to do a bit of Hanami (花見, “flower viewing”).
