Drop Everything; A Hogwarts Camp Is Happening In France

Dreams apparently do come true, Potterheads: you can now go to a literal Hogwarts camp at a castle in France.

This makeshift Hogwarts, which will be based on the first Harry Potter Philosopher’s Stone novel, will take over Bourgougnague’s Château de Jolibert in the idyllic south-west of France, and will be spreading the magic for an entire weekend of wizardry. This is definitely one to add to your (probably already huge) Harry Potter bucket list.

No need to BYO wand. Once you arrive at Hogwarts, you – the student – will be welcomed to Diagon Alley where you’ll be able to purchase all your magical supplies for your classes throughout the weekend.

Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is the heart of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, an expansive new environment at Universal Orlando Resort that will bring the world of Harry Potter to life. This all new adventure combines a powerful storyline with spectacular new technology so effectively that guests will be completely immersed in the experience. Film stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson and others shot an exclusive piece of film just for the ride. Guests can experience Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey when The Wizarding World of Harry Potter grand opens on June 18.

Post-drinks, there’s a Sorting Ceremony (cross your fingers and toes that you’ll end up in Gryffindor), followed by a tour of the schooling site. And before you ask, no, you’re not allowed in the forest, because reasons.

Classes and quidditch will run throughout the weekend with exams and the final match taking place on the Sunday.

The magical weekend will take place May 25 to 28, 2017. Tickets cost around $265AUD, which includes all food and accommodation, and bookings are available here. Time to start planning your Euro adventure? Just keep in mind that the event will only cater to Fluent French speakers, so it might be time to brush up on your language skills.
