A Floating Bar Is Coming To Melbourne’s Yarra River

Mark it in your calendars, set an alarm and start clearing your plans because a floating bar in the middle of the Yarra River is opening tomorrow in Melbourne’s CBD. Finally.

Arbory Bar & Eatery are the masterminds behind this buoyant bar which will be setting sail on Tuesday October 23 for a limited time only. The pop up bar will moor alongside Arbory’s permanent fixture along Platform 13 of Flinders Street Station on the northern side of the Yarra River.

Guests at the Arbory Afloat can enjoy French champagne, brand new Arbory cocktails, and a load of craft beers to accompany a brand new menu by Arbory’s head chef Nick Bennett. Rumour has it Bennett has concocted a seafood-heavy menu filled with the fresh caviar, oysters, lobster rolls, and loads more to wet your whistle after hours. There’s also cheese boards (!) for those who aren’t so fish-friendly.

Built to coincide with Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival, Arbory Afloat will be the very first floating bar in Melbourne. It will be nautical in theme and be modelled after Palm Springs in the ’70s, which we can only assume means loads of brown liquors, giant oversized sunnies and the coolest of cool vibes.
